Forced-labor Section 301 — Indonesia — 10% additional duty

A Section 301 measure is a U.S. trade remedy used to address certain acts, policies, or practices connected with a foreign country. In this case, the measure title points to goods associated with Indonesia and an additional duty based on the measure’s stated coverage. The additional duty is separate from the product’s normal HTSUS duty and may apply only to specified classifications, origins, and entry conditions.

The importer of record is generally responsible for declaring the correct country of origin, HTSUS classification, and any applicable additional-duty reporting. “Forced labor” is also a distinct customs-compliance concept that is commonly associated with Section 307 enforcement, so do not assume that a title alone establishes the legal basis or scope. • Document the product’s country of origin using the applicable origin rules; do not rely only on the shipping country or seller location.
• Check whether the additional duty is reported separately and whether it can apply together with other tariffs, trade remedies, exclusions, or quota requirements.
• Review the supply chain for forced-labor risk and retain records supporting sourcing, production, origin, classification, and any required declarations.
